P90X3 was designed for people of all shapes and ages, that are looking to get in the best shape of their lives. That said, it is definitely not for everyone. The P90X series of workouts are designed to take you body to it’s best. P90X3 is no exception to this rule. If you love fast paced music, cardio, and aerobic style training, P90X3 is not for you. P90X3 is for people that don’t want to worry about being coordinated, don’t want to have to keep up with super fast paced music, and just want to workout.
Because of the pace and the type of movements that are included, I highly recommend P90X3 this workout to beginners. P90X3 is not a graduate program to P90X or P90X2. P90X3 is an entirely new workout. In every workout, there is a modifier that you can watch if you would prefer to do a lower impact workout. For beginners, this workouts great.
Another cool feature of the P90X3 workout program is how Tony Horton uses three people in every workout. One does the low impact workout for beginners, another does the workout as it’s intended to be done, and a third person does what I call “Ultra Extreme P90X3″ and takes things to a whole other level.
Most of the music tracks in P90X3 are rather slow, and you rely on the comedy and humor of Tony Horton to keep you going throughout the workout. This is actually a really good thing because it allows you to focus on your movements, and the tips that Tony Horton throws out at you throughout the workouts.
If you are a beginner that wants to get started with fitness, this is the workout for you. If you are already in decent shape, but want to get in the best shape of your life, P90X3 is for you. If you are a triathelete and want to get all your muscles in the best form possible, P90X3 is for you.
If you want to workout 30 minutes or less a day, P90X3 is for you.
There are a few ways to order P90X3. This allows people of every budget to get a copy of P90X3. Let me go through all the options for you so you can decide which copy of Tony Horton’s brand new workout you want!

I’ve personally tried these workouts, so before I get into them, let me tell you that P90X3 is awesome because every workout that is included, has been researched for many years, in some cases a decade! Each workout is the best workout of its kind. No question. For the Mixed Martial Arts P90X3 workout, Tony Horton brought in an MMA expert. For the stretching components, Tony Horton worked with an Olympic track and field star.
The P90X3 16 workouts are broken down into 4 core areas. Resistance, Power, Cardio, and Core Flex & Balance.
- Total Synergistics
- The Challenge
- The Warrior
- Eccentric Upper
- Eccentric Lower
- Agility X
Core, Flex & Balance
- X3 Yoga
- Pilates X
Every workout with P90X3 is the best workout of its kind. They had to be so that you could get the best results possible with a 30 minute workout.
Here are a few of the workouts that will be include in P90X3.
The Warrior Workout
The P90X3 Warrior workout is an incredible workout that was created by Tony Horton when he was training US Soldiers on Military basis around the world. The Warrior Workout has three rounds in 30 minutes. There are two breaks in the workout for some water and you will want to make the most of them. Tony’s tip of the day for this workout? “Train like a warrior.” No equipment is needed, however you can use the powerstands if you want to add some extra difficulty to the workout.
Each round of the warrior P90X3 workout include an upper body exercise, an interval exercise, a core exercise, and an explosive lower body exercise. As Tony himself says “You can do it on the deck of an aircraft carrier, and open field, a hotel room, anywhere where you can find gravity. And trust me, it will get the job done.”
During the workout you are introduced to Joel, Mark Briggs, and Susan Lucy. Susan is your modifier for the workout, Joel is the baseline, and Mark is the expert.
When The Warrior Workout starts, you will begin with a nice warm-up. Running, Jumping jacks, twist and pivot. You get 4 minutes of warm-up, and then you get down to business. What kind of moves will you be doing in P90X3 Warrior Workout? Plank Sphinx Push-ups, Speed Skater, Downward dog crunches, Side lunge jump shot, Elevator Push-ups, Double Uppercut, Sprawls, Roller Boat, One Leg Jump Squats, One Arm Thumbs-up Push-Ups, Fifer Scissor Twist, Warrior Squat Lunges, Super Burpee, Think Drills, Abrinome, Spiderman Squats, Burnout, and finally the cool-down
MMX – Mixed Martial Arts Extreme Workout
The P90X3 Mixed Martial Arts workout is an insane version of a Kenpo X. Kenpo X was a 60 minute workout that took a long time to get done. Great workout, just a long one. With MMX, Tony Horton has created the ultimate 30 minute mixed martial arts workout. Mark Briggs is in the house, and P90X3 delivers. MMX has workouts that give you much more range of motion, where as Kenpo X was more static movements. Straight punches, blocks, etc. MMX has more moves like elbows where you must twist and come all around. One of the best moves out of P90X3 that I love is the new Elbow, downward strike, sprawl.
Other P90X3 Workouts
There are many other workouts that are included in P90X3, as we get more information, we will add the details to P90X3: The Complete Guide. Some of the workouts are:
- Try-ometrics (think plyometrics, X3 style!)
- Isometrics- alternating lower body and upper body movements.
- CVX- Cardio Vascular Extreme- The epic cardiovascular workout medicine balls.
- Ab Ripper X3 – 15 Minute P90X3 Ab workout that includes a great new move called the Bridge burner.
- Agility X
- Cold Start – 20 minute warm-up when you need it.
P90X3 is a 90 day program just like all the original P90X workouts. In 90 days, you will get in the best shape of your life. You will exercise 6 days a week, and have one day off. For most people, this means working out Monday through Saturday, with Sunday’s off.
Every P90X3 workout is 30 minutes in length. All you need is your body weight, and some gravity to do the workout. As long as you live on planet earth, and have some weight on your bones, you are good to go.
There are four different P90X3 schedules to chose from:
- Classic – This is the workout schedule that Tony created originally for P90X3. It is great if you are looking to add muscle and shred fat.
- Lean – Looking for a more lean, less bulky look, then chose the P90X3 Lean Schedule.
- Doubles - If you are looking to get in the most ridiculous shape of all time, then try and follow the P90X3 doubles schedule. This is for those that want to get totally ripped and scare people as you walk around the beach with your shirt off.
- Mass - Want to look huge? Hate lifting weights? You don’t need to lift weights in order to get huge. Just follow the P90X3 Mass building schedule.
If you are new to the P90X family of workouts, I would highly recommend you chose the P90X3 Classic Schedule. You can always do a second round of P90X3 to custom build the body you are looking to achieve.
P90X3 is a 90 day workout program. 30 minutes a day, for 6 days you will do P90X3. P90X3 is split into 3 Blocks. Block 1 of P90X3 is 4 weeks long. Block 2 is also 4 weeks. The final block, Block 3 lasts 5 weeks. There is also an Elite Block schedule which can be completed after the initial 90 day P90X3 workout, and run an additional 4 weeks.
P90X3 Elite Blocks are only included in the P90X3 Deluxe and P90X3 Ultimate kits. They can also be purchased separately.
Results will always vary in a workout program, but if you follow the workout plan, you can expect to lose at least 10% of your body fat, and lose anywhere from 30 to 50 pounds in 90 days. That’s some pretty crazy results if you ask me.
P90X was developed to leverage muscle confusion. Muscle confusion changes up the movements your body is used to doing, to get you incredible results. Typical training causes your body to plateau and stop seeing results. Your body adapts, and the weight loss stops, or the muscle growth stops. With P90X this doesn’t happen.
P90X2 introduced a concept of muscle integration. Muscle integration was a breakthrough in applied sports science. By packing P90X2 with movements that forced you to use multiple muscles in your body at the same time, P90X2 delivers a workout usually reserved for professional athletes. It also leverages muscle confusion from the original P90X series.
P90X3 adds a concept known as muscle acceleration. Muscle acceleration introduces intense workouts for 30 minutes, with tiny 30 second breaks. This makes you work at an accelerated pace during a shorter period of time. The latest fitness science has found that people achieve most of their results during the first 30 minutes of a workout. Add to P90X3 muscle confusion, as well as muscle integration training, and you have yourself the ultimate version of P90X. P90X3 has arrived.
Nutrition is the key to incredible results with any workout program. While you perform intensive workouts, it is imperative that you put great foods and nutrients in your body so it can get stronger and stronger every day. Just like a car needs good gas and oil changes, your body needs the best gas possible to run in ultimate peak performance
P90X3 goes back to the basics for meal plans, and includes a meal plan that is similar to the Power 90 meal plan. The P90X3 diet is based on macronutrients. This means you are looking at three simple things. Proteins, Carbohydrates, and Fats. P90X3 will teach you the 6 steps you will need to follow in your diet, in order to get the results you are expecting with P90X3
Control Your Portions
Learn to eat about half of what you normally get when you are served a meal. Tony will show you how to control your meal portions, and eat to give your body nutrients, not eat for fun. You will learn how many calories you need to eat a day, and how many calories you burn in a day.
Question Everything You Eat
Look at everything you are about to eat. Does it have the right amount of protein, carbs, and veggies? The plate serving should be an equal amount of these three things.
Consistent 5 Times Per Day Eating Schedule
Learn the best 5 times to eat during the day to set yourself up for success and optimal weight loss and muscle growth. The most important items I got from the P90X3 meal plan was to always eat breakfast, and always stop eating three hours before bed time.
Nourish Your Body By Drinking Water
Drink two liters of water a day. Yup you heard me right. If you are training 6 days a week, and not drinking at least two liters of water per day, you are walking around dehydrated to some degree. Our bodies are 60% – 78% water depending on our age. What do you think happens when you don’t drink enough water?
Fortify Your Diet With Shakeology
You just aren’t going to be able to pack in the nutrients that you need on a daily basis. Most nutritionists will tell you that a multi-vitamin of some kind is essential for someone training to get in the best health possible. Can you get away without taking Shakeology? Sure. But the thing is Shakeology is the only way I know of that will save you money, and give you all the servings of veggies, fruit, and protein you need in any day. Not to mention the amount of probiotics and pre-biotics that are included in Shakeology.
Refrain From Eating At The Wrong Times
Don’t eat up to three hours before bed time? Why? This is the best trick if you want to lose weight fast. During sleep, your body goes into fat burning mode. So if you have food in your stomach, guess where it will take the fat and carbs it wants to burn to create energy? The food in your stomach. But guess what happens when you instead drinks water, and let your body rest. It starts to burn fat that is stored in your body, thus helping you lose weight quicker.
The P90X3 Challenge Pack includes everything you get in the P90X3 Base Kit, plus Shakeology. Now why would you want Shakeology? The biggest challenge most people have with workout programs like P90X3 is not pushing play and doing the workout. The biggest challenge? You guessed it: Eating properly! Nutrition!
When you exercise, you put your body through a series of movements that are designed to make your heart beat faster, stretch your muscles further, and push yourself to the limit. Your body basically needs to repair itself after every workout. How does your body repair? With proper nutrition, and sleep. So, if you haven’t eaten 5 servings of veggies, a couple servings of fruit, protein, and many other foods you need for optimal recovery, guess what will happen? You won’t see results because you won’t be improving.
This is why everyone that gets the “incredible” and “unbelievable” P90X3 results has been taking Shakeology.
