10 Ways To Get The Most Out of Your Beachbody Workout

Get The Most Out Of Your Beachbody Workouts

So you did it! You bought a Beachbody Workout, and now you want to get the most out of that workout! Makes sense you've invested your money, and are about to invest something even more important: Your time! I'm one of the top coaches in Beachbody and I wanted to share with you 10 tips I share with all my Beachbody challengers so they get the most out of their workouts.

1. Workout In The Morning

Working out in the morning will actually allow you to burn more calories throughout the day, and give you some added energy for the entire day! Also when you workout in the morning, you are guaranteed to get your workout done. This is a simple tip to get started, but one of the cornerstones to get the most out of your Beachbody Workout.

2. Drink Plenty of Water

Are you drinking enough water? I can answer that for you, likely no.  The human body is made up of almost 60% water. Your brain is 70% water. Your lungs are 90% water. Guess what happens when you don't drink enough water? You get headaches, your body starts to fall apart on you, you start getting “weird pains”, and most importantly: Your body can't cleanse itself, and it can't feed itself! That is very bad if you are trying to lose weight and get in great shape. So how much water should you drink? Men, you need to drink 13 cups of water a day. That's about 3 liters of water a day. Women, you need 9 cups of water. That's about 2.2 liters of  water per day. And if your working out, I would add in one or two more cups!

3. Make Sure You Have A Coach and Support

Everyone gets a free coach with Beachbody. Besides the amazing workout program, a great coach will ensure you get amazing results with the Beachbody workouts. For example, all of the people that make me their coach, I message with them on Facebook whenever they need me! We also have a Beachbody Challenge Group that helps them all the way. I help them pick the right workout, follow the meal plans, and stick with the workouts. If they need help with modifications, I'm there to help them get through it! I would say 90% of all people that get a workout program, don't find a great coach before they buy a workout! And coaches are totally free! Blows my mind sometimes.

By the way, if you want me to help you and become your coach, just add me on facebook and send me a message! I help you get the most out of your workouts totally free.

4. Join a Beachbody Challenge Group

My team runs a Beachbody Challenge Group for all our friends that are doing the workout programs. Anyone that has assigned me as their coach, not only gets the support from me, but they also get the support from my entire team! That's nutritionists, certified Insanity, P90X, PiYo instructors, and more. So that obviously really helps people get awesome results.  So if you bought a Beachbody Workout Program, make sure you get into a challenge group! If you want to join ours, just send me a message on facebook!

Another cool thing about my Beachbody Challenge Groups is I come at you LIVE with video so you can see me, and you learn EXACTLY how to get started right, depending on whatever workout program you are interested in doing! Here is an example of how I get my Focus T25 Challengers started RIGHT!

5. Follow the Meal Plan

Many people think the meal plan is a “suggestion”. It's not. It's actually going to be responsible for 70% of your results. You just cant out train a bad diet. It's not possible. You need to follow the meal plan. Depending on the workout program you chose, the meal plan has been designed specifically with that meal plan in mind! So that book you just put under a pile of papers, make sure you read it entirely so you understand the foods you need to be putting in your body!

6.  Track What You Eat

Tracking what you eat can be done in three ways. The easiest I find is to use MyFitnessPal. It's an app you can install on iPhone or Android phones, and you just type in what you eat! Just look it up in your app store, and it will come up! It has everything you would ever want to eat, and it adds up your calories, the nutrients your eating, everything! It even has a handy water glass counter so you can keep track of how many glasses of water you drank during the day.

 7. Feel Free To Customize Your Schedule

Some people are dead set on starting on Monday's and following the calendar exactly as Beachody provides the workout calendar for you. One thing I find works great is to start on Sunday! Why? I typically have a lot more time on Sunday's to workout, where as during the week I'm struggling to make time to get everything done. You might have days where you know you ahve more time than others. Make sure you workout on those days, and take days off when you are busy!

8. Reward Yourself

One of the ways I'm able to stay on track, is by giving myself little rewards. Whenever I finish  a great week of workouts, I let myself buy a new album on iTunes. You could do the same thing, or with other rewards! Some people like to have a cheat day and have an ice cream, or some pizza. Maybe you want to reward yourself with a trip to the movies. Whatever it is for you, make sure you reward yourself for a job well done!

9. Be Consistent

I often ask people what they think would happen if they worked out really hard on Sunday, for 7 hours straight, and then they did nothing till the following Sunday. The answer? Nothing much. You would be much better off working out 20 to 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week, than working out one day alone for a 7 hour period. If you want great results, you need to be consistent. That means working out when you least want to exercise. That means setting yourself up for success (next and final tip). That means pushing play every day and taking the time out of your day to take care of yourself. This is all about taking care of yourself!

10. Set Yourself Up For Success

There are two big things you need to do in order set yourself up for success. One, you need to make sure everything is laid out the day before your workout. That means if you need certain resistance bands, foods for your meals, or equipment like a chin up bar… you need to have them in place and setup! Why? Because if you don't, the day you go and do your workout you are going to  be frustrated that you are not ready to go, and it will take you an hour to do a 25 minute workout! That's all kinds of bad.  The other thing you need to do is set a realistic goal of what you want to accomplish!

One trick that works well for me and my challengers, is I have them get two glass clear jam jars. On one they write “Weight lost” on a piece of masking tape, on the other they put in the marbles they are hoping to lose and write “Weight To Lose”. As they lose weight, the move the marbles from one jar, to the other! This trick works so well because it keeps things visual for people, so they know exactly how they are doing every step of the way.
